It has been a question of when, not if Microsofts AI behemoth “Copilot” were included in the consumer oriented license SKUs. Well, today we got the answer:
Copilot is now included in Microsoft 365 Personal and Family | Microsoft 365 Blog
Questions will surface after this decision. From the top of my head; why should corporates pay premium for their service, while the already fairly priced consumer version now has it included.
For those who have followed me through the years, you know that people and adoption orientation is one of my favorite areas of tech and my hypotheses is quite simple: adoption happens a lot faster when I can use Copilot to write greeting cards for my sisters 30th birthday, generate pictures and keep my monthly budget updated with Copilot. Second, this might be the tipping point for many bystanders who still is waiting for the AI- wave prove it’s worth.
Dragging this experience to the business is just one possible explanation. Regardless – this is a dearly welcomed addition from Redmond.
