Insight: Unified Threat Management

Hacktivism and cyber crime

Unified Threat Management is a comprehensive security package that not only includes firewall, but also the gateway antivirus, SPAM filter, content protection and protection against data leakage.

The UTM system is more than a security box that fits on the network. The UTM system includes many features from the application to control web filtering, and is in short a complete gateway protection that resembles a sophisticated descendant of the firewall – though considerably more extensive. Two of the major advantages of UTM is protection against blended attacks and increased protection against loss of sensitive data through careless users or unfaithful employees.

Companies today can never be too careful when it comes to network security, especially when it’s customer information and business information involved. Many layers of security are required to keep attackers out and prevent sensitive information falling into the wrong hands. At the same time should not be a high security level stand in the way of those who will use the network on a daily basis.

Two of the major advantages of UTM is protection against blended attacks and increased protection against loss of sensitive data through careless users or unfaithful employees.

Cool and compact badass

Small micro speakers has recently been a regular at the beach and under the Christmas tree and the market will open up new combinations.

Micro Speakers may not be the most spoken about, which we found odd. The product impresses in most areas, but it’s more than just the sound that impresses. Although the compact audio plug does not take much space there is plenty of sound that easily surpass many competitors.

Flat design mouse

All the way since May 2004, the sales of laptops surpassed sales of desktop computers – and external mouse are the most commonly used accessory. Human interface for computers exist in a complex number, mouse and other pointing devices are no exception and despite the touch plate – wireless mouse is one of the best selling accessories.

Microsoft Arc Touch is a well designed mouse with good features, but with a little too big ergonomic challenges. When Microsoft is choosing to prefer BlueTrack in favour of Laser, it is somewhat disappointing that it does not handle any substrate as well as laser – or better.

There is nothing to expose the overall package you get from TomTom if you ignore our desire a matte screen.
